Reviewing the Timelines by Projects, Instruments and Employees
Under the menu “Task views” a sub-menu “Timelines” allows the use of three different reports to view the tasks grouped by employees, instruments or projects. When the groups of tasks are displayed, it is possible to select them and reschedule by changing the start date or by replacing the resource with a different one
Projects Timelines Report
The screen allows the user to select a date range and displays the tasks grouped by project.
The screen displays the tasks as a single bar starting on the start date of the earliest task in the group and ending on the end date of the latest task in the group
By clicking on any bar, a pop-up screen appears, allowing the user to change the start date of the group of tasks.
When the user clicks on the “Apply changes” button, a preliminary process starts which checks if the move of the tasks is creating an overallocation, according to the rules defined in the system configuration. If this is the case, the process stops and an error message is sent to the user to change the new start date.
If the preliminary check is successful, all the tasks of the group are moved with the earliest task starting at the new start date and the other tasks shifted accordingly.
Instruments Timelines Report
The screen allows the user to select a date range and displays the tasks grouped by instrument group.
The screen displays the tasks as a single bar starting on the start date of the earliest task in the group and ending on the end date of the latest task in the group.
