THE CUSTOM PARAMETERS

THE CUSTOM PARAMETERS

WHAT ARE THE  CUSTOM PARAMETERS USED FOR

The custom parameters are used to adapt your Optima LRMS® solution to your requirements.
Custom parameters can be set at different levels of the system to specify actions for an object (item in the master data).
When you have some activated, you should find them under the column Parameters; click on the (+) icon.
If this icon is not activated, you have no custom parameters set for that object.

Most of these parameters are configured during the implementation phase, but they can be set at any time.
However, some of them can significantly influence the task scheduling behaviour, and implementing certain custom parameters may require a small dedicated project to assess the outcome in your test environment.

The list below is a compilation of what has been implemented so far in some Optima customers' environments.
New parameters can be developed to meet your needs.

Info
If you are interested in implementing one of these parameters or requesting a new one, please contact customercare@optima.life or raise a ticket.

LIST OF AVAILABLE CUSTOM PARAMETERS

( last update April 2026)

The Custom parameters are applicable in one or more object levels, and so far they are defining for example:
  1. Automatic batching of Samples / lots  based on min and max number and urgencies of the Samples/ Lots
  2. Assign more than one instrument in a step, based on a defined formula
  3. Balance the workload of a person by limiting the number of a concrete activity or by limiting the number of consecutive hours
  4. ...

FILL BATCH
Once urgent Samples / Lost are identified, the engine searches for any available Samples / Lots, regardless of their due time, to fill the batch and improve effectiveness.
If NO, the engine will process only the urgent Samples / Lots

BATCH NUMBER SUFFIX
When Optima is asked to build a batch of Samples/ Lots,  the Batch number includes date and time information in the preferred format
YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI

This buffer day can be set for a specific date specified in your request form such as stability due date, due date, start date, etc.Number ( days)System
NUMBER OF BUFFER DAYS
This buffer day can be set for a specific date as above and defined at Test Group level instead of system
Number ( days)

MAX BATCH SIZE
The Samples / Lots are grouped in a batch per test group.
The number of Samples / Lots in a batch is limited to a maximum number.

MIN BATCH SIZE
The Samples / Lots are grouped in a batch per test group.
The number of Samples / Lots  in a batch is limited to a minimum number.

 APPLY A GAP BETWEEN TESTS
The delay that is normally adjusted between steps is here applicable between Tests, so the first step of a Test can be delayed from the last step of the previous Test.
 Number ( days)
 Tests in a Test Series
MAX NUMBER OF STEP_NAME / DAY
Some activities like preparation step might be overwhelming. this parameter takes care to assign X number of this step to an employee per day

MAXIMUM CONSECUTIVE HOURS
Maximum number of hours doing a specific Test_Name

MULTIPLY BY SAMPLES
The duration of the step is set so that it can be multiplied by the number of Samples / Lots to be processed.
The original formula associated to this parameter is :  New Duration = N samples * Step duration

MULTI INSTRUMENTS
This option can be activated directly at Instrument groups level.
A formula would need to be facilitated in order to indicate when more than one instrument should be assigned such as N samples / 2 = number of instrument
